Follow the Money, when it comes to the best Wooden Climbing Frame to buy.

--

Buying a wooden childrens Climbing Frame, Playset or Swingset is a once in a life time purchase for almost all parents. So, to get it right, we all need some help getting play features the kids need now and will need during the lifetime of the product. A Climbing Frame that is safe, easy to build / maintain, and within mum and dads financial budget.

Being proud to have been involved in the design, manufacture and direct retailing of cedar and redwood Swingsets for over 15 years. During this time i have spoken to tens of thousands of customers by phone, face to face in our showrooms plus taken customer enquires over the phone, I guess without being pompous, I am a swingset expert (swingset geek!). I hope I am well placed to share my advice, to help you buy a Climbing Frame, to make the right choice. My focus area is Swingsets and Climbing Frames in the £899-£2000 price bracket. This could be called the mid-market. Having a passion for the mid market is understandable because you get quality, safety and huge play value at a reasonable, affordable price.

Starting this swingset journey in rural Suffolk, United Kingdom now manufacturing in China to sell Climbing Frames throughout the UK and Ireland.

So where do you start your research? Or, lets say where do “we” start as we are going through this exercise together. Now that we have decided to invest in a wooden climbing frame for your children, I say invest rather than just buy, because even at 5 -10 years old these products hold a handsome second hand value. How do we plan the big buy? Lets be honest, its a huge buy. Not only in terms of size, cost and life span. We need to make sure the buy has to be right for the amount of years of enjoyment your children will get.

The 3 Step Climbing Frame Purchase Checklist.

Step 1. This is normally the inflexible step. How much space do you have your garden or yard? When considering the space, also consider the proximity to the house; can you see the kids play, is the area free of obstacles, are there any trip hazards, walls or fences. Does the area get sunlight? Or is it totally shaded? Half way between the two is perfect. It is always worth considering, does the play set enhance the look of your garden. Oh, please think of the neighbours !

Step 2. What features do your kids want now and what will they want as they grow up? We have different slide types, different climbing features like rock walls and monkey bars, various swing attachments, asthetic features like wooden rooves or colourful tarp rooves, playhouses or open sand play areas beneath the forts.

Step 3. What is the budget? Bear in mind, I guarantee you will end up spending 20% more than you budgeted. A climbing frame is a different type of toy, a differnt type of investment. Ask yourself, how many other toys offer up to 10 years play value ?

I hope this post helps you and your family with your research and, ultimately resulting in a purchase for you all.
